    Check operation first, use a screwdriver, or risk a finger (TYVM for that little tidbit) to check if the TB is seized or sticking. Have a friend step on the gas with the key on, engine OFF and watch TB, should fully cycle. If not suspect wiring or pedal sensor and check wiring/voltage as he and others have described. My 06 500 TB made a horrible grinding noise and didn't move at all. Problem solved. You could've skipped the whole cleaning procedure for your customer, but that's cool, it was very informative. The extra step in DCing the wiring harness saved me, as well as the short/discharge/relearn procedure. TYVM again! Great video!

    I been in a battle with my honda pilot power steering issues, replaced the high-pressure line due to a bad leak and now still makes a noise was quiet for a bit but now it started again, hopefully, it isn't due kink a possible kink on the high-pressure line, (was trying to replace the P/S sensor because it's still leaking a tiny bit when car was off) Ill replace the o-ring tonight hopefully it resolves it! I'll probably flush it with valvoline maxlife because I heard its better than normal P/s fluid.. also have some leftover from my transmission fluid change. 04 Pilot with 189K

    A month after getting new tires on my 2023 ES350, I suddenly have a humm at 50+mph. It’s very slight, but I hear it and slightly feel it. After experimenting, I find if I set my cruise at 60, while driving straight, I can turn the wheel to the left ever so slightly, and the noise goes away. Move it back to center the noise comes back- every time. Car only has 23,000 miles. Could it be a wheel bearing?

    bout to do this job and replace the control arms, stabilizers, tie rods (inner and outer). Probably take all day but took me and my buddy a couple of inspections before we figured out it was the bushings. The others need replacing after 120k miles. That noise will drive your crazy trying to figure out what it is.

    Actually the correct button to push is the one on the left side of the dash labeled “PUSH/ODO TRIP”Verified it on my 2006 Highlander after looking at other more accurate online instructions. Clarification: This video is showing the correct steps for a 2001-2005 Highlander. Starting in 2006, the button to push was switched to the left-side button labeled “PUSH/ODO TRIP”

    Kent More tools makes a dowel kit that you install as guides to install the rear cover. If your doing the oil pan gasket you do it first and finish with the rear cover and rear main seal. Not reading the instructions in the manual or just winging it will cause problems. Follow the correct assembly procedure and youll never have an issue. Pan first read cover and seal and final assembly. Retired GMC / Chevy/ Cadillac tech 30 years in the service bay.

    My Mx5 was spark-knocking and smoking like crazy- took it into a shop, they did a compression test and cleaned the fuel injectors and told me to run higher octane fuel, charged me $465 and didn't even solve the problem. I installed a new OEM PCV valve, and voila, corrected the problem, has never run better!

    Thank you for the Video. I had the Lower Control Arms replaced for a really bad popping/ clanking sound. That fixed that, but the other noise is still there. The mechanic was honest enough to let me know that there were two sources of the noise, and that the Control Arms were the clanking sound, and were very dangerous to drive on.

    • @DIYAutoHomeschool
      @DIYAutoHomeschool Месяц назад

      Definitely. If you had 2 starters and one had a failed component and the other had that component still good, you could absolutely use one to make the other work. It used to be fairly commonplace to repair Starters or Alternators. Now, it is often more expensive to buy the replacement components new than it would be to buy a rebuilt unit. The industry has moved towards component replacement and the companies that rebuild these have pushed the market for the replacement parts out of reach of the average consumer. Thanks for your comment, glad you liked the video.
